The EU and Internet Regulation

Europe is slowly moving out of recession, and one of the very few industries that has maintained a thriving developement is the Telecommunications sector with billions of Euros being poured into the internet. Sustainable jobs created regularly are helping to boost European economy BUT new rules could see an end to that.
 
Should new forms of regulations be implemented?

  1. According to the government, £1 in every £10 created by the British economy comes out of what is defined as the digital sector. And sorry to keep coming back to the Digital Economy Bill (lets call it DEB for short) but it is such a far reaching bill with many unforseabe consequences. While the DEB will look to improve the national infrastructure, it’s punitive measures will also stife creativity, block access to people who need it most, unfairly punish companies for content posted on their site. I think as we as journalists and citizens need to force a national debate on thebill before it can be rammed down our throats.
